The LEDs for the battery are racing and one of the mode LEDs is flashing. Just to be sure, try connecting it to the first battery you charged. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen, rarely. I have owned Battery Tenders for over 20 years and have never ran into a problem like your are having where there are no lights after connecting everything.įor the heck of it, try a different wall outlet and if nothing happens, you may have a dead Battery Tender. If the Battery Tender is not properly connected to the battery, the red light blinks. The green light will stay on as long as you leave it connected to the battery, indicating that the charger is on maintenance/float mode.

Have any of you Battery Tender users run into this situation? I will call Deltran tomorrow but I am posting this just in case some of you Sunday readers have run into this problem previously.

The manual for the Battery Tender says that if no lights come on, the power source should be checked with a voltmeter or by plugging in another electrical appliance. The battery in question is showing a charge of 8.5V.

If the battery has less than a 3V charge, the red light should flash. The instructions say that the red light should come on when the tender is receiving power. I hooked it up to another battery from another vehicle today and it doesn't work at all. Within a 24 hour period, it brought the battery up to full charge.

It operated just as the manual stated it should. I used it on a battery with low charge from one of my cars. Just purchased a new Deltran Battery Tender Plus. Eman, the most common reason for that is because the battery is completely drained out, discharged below the charging threshold.
